Home visits

If possible please try to telephone reception before 10:30am if you require a home visit.

A doctor, nurse or Paramedic may phone you back as it may be that your problem can be dealt with by telephone advice, or that it would be more appropriate to send a nurse or Paramedic, or indeed arrange a hospital attendance.

House visits are only available for patients who are housebound because of illness or disability.

Please remember that several patients can be seen in the practice in the time that it takes to make one home visit. There are also better facilities for examining and treating patients at the surgery.

Did You Know ?

We are participating in a new approach to improve access for patients to GP appointments. The aim is to direct patients to the most appropriate healthcare professional, which may be a GP, Pharmacist, Paramedic, First Contact Practitioner or a Link Worker.   From February 2022, if your symptoms could be resolved by a booked consultation with the pharmacist instead of the GP, you will be given a same-day referral to a pharmacy of your choice.

We think this is a good thing. Once you see how great your local pharmacist is – they are highly trained and skilled clinicians experienced in treating minor illnesses – we don’t think you’ll look back. This will also help us to free up GP appointments for people with more complex health needs and ensure that everyone gets treated at the right time, by the right healthcare professional.

For further information visit our Minor Illness page or complete a self-referral form to your local pharmacy
